Asbury Memorial Church worship service for December 15, 2019, the 3rd Sunday of Advent


	Lighting of the Advent Candle of Joy The West family, Cory & Temperance with children Lila, Collis, & Grayson, light the Advent candle of Joy followed by the choral response from the choir.

	Music The Asbury Choir and musicians perform "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel", a variation of the traditional 9th-century hymn, arranged by Pamela M. Robertson for choir, piano, violin, and handbells. Directed by Ray Ellis. 	Prayers of the People Rev. Richard Allen leads the congregation in the "Prayers for the People" followed by the choral 'amen' from the choir.

	Scripture Reading Dottie Kluttz reads from the book of Luke (1:26-38) and the book of Matthew (11:2-6) for the scripture reading
	Announcements & Birthdays Rev. Billy Hester gives several special announcements and birthday greetings, including the 96th birthday greeting to Virginia Holliday (who says she is '69')

	Sermon: Rev. Billy Hester gives his sermon; "Expect the Unexpected" on the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Based on the scriptures from Luke 1:26-38 and Matthew 11:2-6 ... the story of the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and John the Baptist having doubts about Jesus being the Messiah

	Anthem at Offertory The Asbury Memorial Church choir sings "Joy in the Morning", an anthem written by Natalie Sleeth. Directed by Ray Ellis with the piano played by Kay Deffley and the bass played by Doug Povie.

	The Benediction Billy Hester gives praise to the choir and more birthday greetings to Virginia Holliday before giving the benediction followed by Cheri Hester signing to the congregation as they respond with singing "Here I Am Lord"
