Sermon:
Sermon: "Finding Your Galileo"

In his sermon, "Finding Your Galileo", Rev. Billy Hester brings up the history of the great astronomer and scientist of the 16th century, Galileo Galilei and his issues he had with the Roman Catholic Church on his position of the order of the solar system, being sun centered, not earth centered. The church deemed him a heretic and ordered him to recant his position. It is here Rev. Hester presents the idea about the literal interpretation of the Bible. One must not close their mind but understand the meaning. One way to understand is by using the Wesleyan Quadrilateral; Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience. One must be able to expand their 'understanding' horizon and to be willing to expand it when necessary.

This Week's Scripture:

Genesis 1:1-5, 26-28, 2:1-3
